Yeah, we get it: hot weather, hot colors — we’ve all read enough magazines to recognize the drill. On the other hand, according to Gawker, 2 is a trend, so spotting 2 identical color combos within walking distance of one another if definitely worth noting. Here, bright orange clothes paired with red shoes may seem daring, but maybe they’re just a few steps ahead of us.

Ever since Madonna made underwear outerwear, variations of this look have been enjoying a seasonal rotation. Enough already! It stopped being racy before the turn of the millennium.

The Q Word Takes the F

A friend of mine always says you aren’t allowed to describe yourself as “quirky”… and beware of people who do. Something tells me this outfit might call itself the q word, or at the very least, eccentric (note the “art school” specs). But I’ve always held that the difference between eccentric and quirky was the number of zeroes following your bank balance, so since this look is riding the F train, I’m betting it’s the former.

Some say laughter is catching, yawns definitely so… could slouching be as well? Shudder. Think twice about who you sit beside next time you’re training!

Needs The Cure, all right

My memory of gothdom may be dimming, but I don’t think neon brights have ever been part of the color scheme. It’s more of a dualistic look — black and black — with hints of red thrown in for vampyric lips and white skin. So this girl’s tee, emblazoned with raging neon pink, orange, blue and green skulls, hits me as off-key. Not that the rest of her is trying to be goth, just the tee. What say you?

Have necklace, will travel

Ugh, jostling elbows, immobility, that icky smooshed feeling — now I hate crowded trains even more, because it makes staring at odd/interesting outfits and people that much more difficult! I am not a ninja, people! But I am wanting a statement necklace. They’re so hot right now.

Nothing pops like a big bold swath of color in summertime… especially when it’s paired with a crisp white tuxedo shirt and basic black. The patent finish just adds to its snap, dontchya think?

Pee-euw! Punk rock does is not a good  look for this guy. But I commend him for matching his ensemble to his hair color.
